You'll undoubtedly recognize the name Jovi Rockwell as one of the many featured players on the epically monstrous Major Lazer album, Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do. What you may not know, however, is that the Jamaicain born jamstress has quite a list of her own works as well.
Known for her eccentric style and original flavor, Rockwell releases Psycho Therapy today, a long awaited mixtape with guest appearances from Akon, Diplo, Major Lazer and many more. The album is a swirling swim through all sorts of dubby deliciousness. Rockwell's unique vocal styling keeps listeners' interest piqued as to what's around the next beat dropping corner.

This news has been out for a hot minute, and looking back through my drafts, realized I had this ready to go, but never actually hit that magic "publish" button. So here we go. La Roux has announced winter tour dates throughout the US and Canada, and we're planning on not missing the act this time around.

Theses dates will be followed by The Gold Tour, a series of shows in the UK beginning on April 26.
It's been a whirlwind year for the troupe and 2010 promises to continue in the upward path set forth already.
Here are the dates for both sets of events, and below that, go grab an ultra dubby dish of Bulletproof.

Per my below note...I lied! I simply could not wait until tomorrow to post on the amazingness that was Florence + the Machine at The Fader Fort yesterday, and since there's a new video bouncing around, hey, perfect coincidence! Yes, all my other CMJ coverage will come out in a more streamlined and "true-to-whence-it happened in time" format, but for now, let's just relish in this wondrousness.
Throughout the course of the nearly 8 hours we spent in the Ace Hotel basement for The Fader's monstrous lineup of insanely rad musicians, kids came and went and typically cleared out post performances before starting to fill up again for the next set. This however, was untrue prior to the set by the London lady and her solo guitar accompanist.
Hundreds of sweatsoaked 'seers began to sing along with hands raised in unison as Florence took the stage. Leading chorused and spirited renditions of hits from debut album, Lungs, the duo and their stringed strummer kept a throbbing audience awaiting each perfectly sung note. It did get a bit rowdy with a number of the "more drunk than should be allowed" fellows pushing their way to the front of the tiny venue space, but ultimately the eloquence and charisma as displayed by Florence Welch was enough to keep everyone entertained and wanting more.
Oh and that vid we mentioned above? It's the official video for The XX's remix of F+tM's latest single, You've Got the Love. The single is out November 15, and here are the similarly edited and chopped visuals of the original to go with the mix.

Florence + the Machine play Bowery Ballroom this Tuesday, October 27. For those of you going, get there early and be prepared for a truly magical experience!

HavocNdeeD is a dubstep based production and live performance crew. It's members, OB-One and J. Paul, come from various musical backgrounds ranging from punk, industrial, drum-n-bass to hip hop & reggae. These styles helped shape their production style to create a unique sound on their own.
The Las Vegas via Phoenix based dudes first caught my attention with a super dubby and glitchily teched out mix of Major Lazer's Hold The Line. So I dug a little further and found that they've washed their spacey echoes and reverbs all over a number of songs you might not expect, including: fixes of Portishead, Craig David and Ladyhawke.
HavocNdeeD's mixes are never short on the super heavy basslines. Seriously, your speakers are going to vibrate so much that the clothes are just gonna drop off.
Give a listen for yourself.

Thanks to this neato dude for reminding me to check my email thoroughly, or else I would have totally missed this killer fireblazer that strolled through yesterday. That said...
Talen is the rock'n'roll/dubhall badassery known as four gnarly dudes hailing from Switzerland (which I think is a first mention of the neutraland here). Kingston Book is the pair's debut EP release. The offering features Jamaican dancehall devils Sizzla and Cutty Ranks, bringing us to what you came here for: free stuff.
The Vibes grabs vocals from the sizzle mister himself, and sprinkle 'em all over a jauntily arranged "it'll never quit" beat.
Kingston Book will be released digitally and as vinyl 12" on October 23, via Mouthwatering Records.

On Saturday night, Crookers got us all sorts of janky and crunky at Terminal 5. I skipped out on a review, because Anthony over at TLC took care of business with his written words. In other "business" news...
Black Noise have just released their massive remix of Crookers' Business Man. It's a total wobbly bass bumper, with vocals from Wiley and Thomas Jules. Think of this as their gift to us to celebrate the fact that their EP02 is out tomorrow, October 16 (snag it here).
And with more goodies to spare, Black Noise play the Autumnal Santa Clause by giving us the video for Jackin My Fresh, which can be found on the EP. The song goes from dubby to disco and back again, complete with some weirdly wild visuals. Check it now.
We're not done yet. Gobble up Black Noise's Slash N Burn Mix here. Peep the track list and get down with the get on ups.

As part of HARD FEST, Major Lazer brought their dubtastically frenetic freakshow through New York on Saturday October 10 at Terminal 5. And go hard, and fast, and raunchy they did! Thankfully, there was no threat of hazard as was the case during the LA HARD stop earlier this summer.
A "Switch-less" Lazer was in full effect under the skillfull manpower of Diplo, with emcee Skerrit Bwoy's antics keeping the crowd pulsating and perspirating throughout the course of the hour long set.
Thankfully, Anthony from Tastes Like Caramel and I snagged a spot in the first balcony directly above the stage. From this vantage point, we had the perfect view of the utterly rabid (and might I mention, super young) fanbase.
Major Lazer as a "stage show" is exactly that. You can forget every recorded version and reworked and remixed track you've heard from the album, Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do. This might sound a bit daft, but the experience was like watching a musical, in that there were "plotlines", skits scattered throughout the performance and a number of special guests, including Nina Sky and Santigold. Yep, it's a weirdly wild and wonderful freakamusical.
Highlights included performances of Keep it Goin' Louder in which the crowd eagerly jumped in unison, tons of booty shaking ridiculousness, and the ever popular spin of Pon de Floor.

Hey Cali kids, if you're not already planning on checking out Major Lazer at the Shrine Auditorium on Halloween, I'd clear your schedule, wear your costume and get your spooky little butts on it immediately!

Bassnectar’s own label Amorphous Music has teamed up with Child’s Play Records to unleash Cozza Frenzy, a verifiable cornucopiac soundmonster that combines dubstep, electro, hip hop, and all styles of dirty digital bass-heavy music and smashes it all into a collision of wobbling, intense basslines, and hypnotic hide-and-seek adventures.
Cozza Frenzy was a work 3 years in the making, and the time was well spent, such that this rich and eclectic collection of 15 songs features collaborations with artists such as Fever Ray, Zumbi of Zion I, Mr. Projectile, and Capital J.
The title track is all things electro. And dubstep. And totally hardcore bangerlicious, with it's diced vocals that cranks everything up to 11. As for the Fever Ray mix? It's a laid back and downtempo slice of pie that showcases Bassnectar's genre hopping versatility.
Cozza Frenzy is out now. Cop it here.

Cartoon zombie heads? Check! A smoky dubhall full of partygoers? You know it! A couple of slick laced vocalists? Bring it on!
Major Lazer, aka Diplo and Switch (as if you didn't already know), recently debuted their video for Keep It Goin' Louder over on NME. If you aren't already completely enamored with the track, here's to hoping you will be after viewing the visuals.
Safe to say I need to get myself to a club pronto and break out some sweet dance moves. I've got nothing on those monsters!
Major Lazer bring their circus to Terminal 5 this Saturday, October 10. Going? Wait, you don't have a ticket? That can be remedied here.

As Santi sings, "I make it, I make it, I make...I make it, I make it.", on the Major Lazer dubthumper, Hold the Line, you have to stop and think, how could you make something so major even bangier? Just ask T-Minus 321, and there you have it.
You know what? I'm not going to say a lot about this one.
I'm just going to nod my head in approval.
He knows he made it hot.
