As part of HARD FEST, Major Lazer brought their dubtastically frenetic freakshow through New York on Saturday October 10 at Terminal 5. And go hard, and fast, and raunchy they did! Thankfully, there was no threat of hazard as was the case during the LA HARD stop earlier this summer.

A "Switch-less" Lazer was in full effect under the skillfull manpower of Diplo, with emcee Skerrit Bwoy's antics keeping the crowd pulsating and perspirating throughout the course of the hour long set.

Thankfully, Anthony from Tastes Like Caramel and I snagged a spot in the first balcony directly above the stage. From this vantage point, we had the perfect view of the utterly rabid (and might I mention, super young) fanbase.

Major Lazer as a "stage show" is exactly that. You can forget every recorded version and reworked and remixed track you've heard from the album, Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do. This might sound a bit daft, but the experience was like watching a musical, in that there were "plotlines", skits scattered throughout the performance and a number of special guests, including Nina Sky and Santigold. Yep, it's a weirdly wild and wonderful freakamusical.

Highlights included performances of Keep it Goin' Louder in which the crowd eagerly jumped in unison, tons of booty shaking ridiculousness, and the ever popular spin of Pon de Floor.

Hey Cali kids, if you're not already planning on checking out Major Lazer at the Shrine Auditorium on Halloween, I'd clear your schedule, wear your costume and get your spooky little butts on it immediately!
