Here in Beastonia, all things funky, fresh and fly are greeted with a generous portion of anticipation and applause. So goes this case anytime a new tune from J*Davey is bestowed upon us....especially in this very moment.

We're writ a fair bit about the pair of Ms. Jack Davey and Brook D'Leau in the past, so a drop of new information set our hearts aflutter this afternoon. This fall, the duo was set to release their first official album, yet a string of delays has left the as-yet-untitled effort at a standstill.

But fear not, fans of the funk! On Christmas Day, J*Davey will release a free mixtape, The Boudoir Synema: The Great Mistape. Presents for everyone!

Included on the disc is the below slice of soul, Outta The Window. I always was THAT kid who couldn't wait til Christmas morning to unwrap their gifts. Ho ho ho!

mp3: J'Davey - Outta The Window

I get the feeling that many artists are honing their holiday "givings", and frankly, we're ok with that! See, it really "tis the season" to be generous, and while we like laying a ton of love on you, it's only because we're reciprocating all the joy we've been thrown. For instance...

The Chicagoan electro duo, Moneypenny, are warming our yuletide logs with three gifts, neatly wrapped and full of cheer.

First up, is the 2-sided single, which features Moneypenny's reworking of the classic Peanuts' song, Christmas Time Is Here, into an ultra funky jam. A cover of the Joy Division song, Love Will Tear Us Apart, serves as the B-Side. Additionally, the gals put together a special holiday mixtape, which is the final installment of their Spandexxx monthly series.

And yep, you're getting all three...for free.

Diplo was everywhere in 2009, whether it was standing beside Switch as Major Lazer or destroying dancefloors with his DJing and solo productions. It's only fitting that world's biggest dance music magazine, Mixmag, should enlist him to put together their end of year cover CD: 2009 Rewind.

And what a magnificent rewind it is. Diplo cuts, scratches and mixes his way through last year’s anthems from noted notables like Prodigy (Invaders Must Die), Chase and Status (Eastern Jam) and Major Lazer (Pon De Floor). It's an absolute classic which begs the question...how the hell can we top 2009?

We've got a three-track sampler to get the love fest flowing. Tracks are as follows.

1. Major Lazer (featuring VYBZ Kartel & Afrojack) - Pon De Floor
2. Amanda Blank - Something Bigger, Something Better
3. L-VIS 1990 - United Groove (MJ Cole mix)

Is it just me, or did Diplo create the mix solely for this beast? Three of my favorite tracks...and I can't wait to hear the rest of the album!

If you're a fan of video games, less than politcally correct cartoons, and some down home southern hardcore rap, then you've no doubt already stumbled across the latest free mixtape coming out of the cable netowrk, Adult Swim.

Presented by Rockstar Games, in association with Timbaland, ATL RMX matches up and coming artists with some truly killer remixes. The entire compilation will be available through the end of the year, and as an added bonus, two of the tracks (Hello Miss and Is That You God?) will be accessible for your very own remix skills. You can download those two and mix using the Beaterator for all of you PSP owners.

As a new year dawns, few things are certain – except of course that Fuzzy’s legendary Field Day is the most life-affirmingly fun way to launch into 2010. Bathed in the green of more grass, beautiful trees and wide open spaces than any other Sydney music festival, with a wealth of crowd favourite headliners and essential fresh artists Field Day is already way ahead.

If you fancy yourself in Australia to ring in the new year, my suggestion would be to not let a hangover stop you from hitting up Field Day. The lineup, which was announced earlier this fall, is so entertainingly massive, and showcases the best and brightest in both established and up and coming musical acts.

To celebrate the forthcoming festivities, The Ashton Shuffle has compiled a mix, which features many of the acts who will participate in Field Day 2010. Track list as follows.

Last week, the news broke that Diplo would be remixing Gucci Mane's Cold War mixtape series in support of the probation violator's December 8 album release. Well, today is both the official date in which GM's The State vs Radric Davis sees the light of day, along with the first exclusive track from the Mad Decent-ly mixed collection.

If this track is any indication as to both the relevance and reality of how gnarly the entire fix of Gucci's body work will be, then we're all in for a super mondo treat. Mane's gravely grumbles easily float over a ticktocking beat provided by Diplo's steady hand.

And if you think you're hearing a Mariah Carey Can't Let Go sample, then you're spot on.

Hat tip to Diplo!

Oooh we got some killer goodies for you to start your Monday off right! Last week, all my little beasts kind of went crazy for a super slick remix from the talented dudeman, Skeet Skeet. Today, we continue on in praise of his productions.

So what's new in his world? Well, he's been hard at work, mixing, mastering and mashing up a Sky Ferreira x Skeet Skeet Mixtape. While the offering isn't available just yet, we've got a gnarly mash titled Happy Dre, which will appear on said output. The song floats Sky's "what, you mean she's only 17?" mature vocal take on The Beatles' Happiness is a Warm Gun over a Dr. Dre beat that you all know and love.

If you have any thoughts as this not working well...think again. Skeet knows his way around a mix, and hell, this one is done to perfection.

Hits play. And repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

mp3: Sky Ferreira x Skeet Skeet - Happy Dre

BONUS!

Skeet and his producing partner, Turbotito, whipped up a disco delicious cover fix of Stevie Nick's' Stand Back for Ferreira to tackle. This is KILLER.

It's like duhduh, yeah, we love our Dada Life mixes. Now with a new original single, the tables have turned and the Sweidsh DJ duo are seeing their song, Let's Get Bleeped Tonight, get worked up and over by a handful of master fixers.

Dada Life's debut album, Just Do the Dada, was released earlier this month (buy it here), and now with a new monthly mix and official single, the boys are prepped to keep your Thansgiving dinners stuffed with radness.

The song, Let's Get Bleeped Tonight, is an enormous blend of the rubbery and piercing, adorned with some super sultry female vocals. Halfway through the track, get ready for a complete shift...all for the best! Remixes come from Tiesto, Don Rimini, Albin Meyers, Moguai, Mustard Pimp and Phatzoo. Buy the single here.

Tittsworth is the gnarliest kind of dude that you know always reps fun, whether in his live sets or heard on his debut album, 12 Steps. His energetic blend of dance music dominates crowds and ensures that the clubs are packed from late night to low light.

Having recently released the third single, Here He Comes, from said album, Tittsworth is sure to be a mainstay on your playlists by not only snagging power players, Pitbull and Nina Sky, to provide the voclas, but also grabbing Nadastrom, Stretch Armstrong, Rico Tubbs and AC Slater to hit up the official remix game.

Do me and T'man a favor by dropping a few bucks to buy the full single and accompanying remix package over at Beatport. And to say thanks, we'll even give you this massive mixtape of his, titled Diversify Yo Bonds. Download here, and take a look at the track list. Mondo ace!

This Saturday, November 21, a massive pop-up free swap in Bushwick is going down. Score! is a pop-up swap — a roving event series that invites New Yorkers to clear out their closets and score new treasures, through every aspect of music, apparel, art, media and random miscellany.

The last Score! Pop Up Swap drew over 1,300 people, and this weekend's event is sizing up to be just as bananas. Flavorpill and Bust Magazine are hosting the swap, the senior editor of Nylon Magazine is curating the clothing department, Showpaper is in charge of the music. More radness include: open bar, live-screenprinting, custom tote bags, and best of all, the event is a fundraiser for City Harvest. Proceeds from the door will go to their anti-hunger initiatives.

What does this have to do with our muscially minded beastings? Simple. Score! The Mixtape. was culled together by DJ Ian Urgo, who pulled out his vinyl funk jams, brought in some remixes, and made magic happen. Track list as follows.

1. Frankie Smith – Double Dutch Bus
2. War – Galaxy
3. The Doobie Brothers – Long Train Runnin’
4. D-Train – You’re the One for Me
5. The S.O.S. Band – Take Your Time (Do It Right)

Last week we let you know about the monstrously rad mixtape from funky man Jack Splash that would be dropping this week. Well kiddos, today's the day, and that day, my friends, is super GROOVY.

We've sung his praises up and down, so instead of ranting and raving more, instead we'll direct you here, to download Heir to the Throne: Volume 1 in its entirety. Below, you can also sample 2 mixtape cuts that are equally sexy and slamming.

Also, if/when you download that full jawn, listen to the first 3 seconds of Tangerine. Shiiiiit.

You'll undoubtedly recognize the name Jovi Rockwell as one of the many featured players on the epically monstrous Major Lazer album, Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do. What you may not know, however, is that the Jamaicain born jamstress has quite a list of her own works as well.

Known for her eccentric style and original flavor, Rockwell releases Psycho Therapy today, a long awaited mixtape with guest appearances from Akon, Diplo, Major Lazer and many more. The album is a swirling swim through all sorts of dubby deliciousness. Rockwell's unique vocal styling keeps listeners' interest piqued as to what's around the next beat dropping corner.

Three of the bands featured on Kitsuné Maison 8 recently swung by the offices of MySpace for an intimately awesome jam session, in quite the tiniest of spaces. No big though...the sound is still big!

Kitsuné took over the office, inviting Chew Lips, My Tiger My Timing, and Crystal Fighters over to show the 'Space cadets what they're working with. Check out the video below.

This just further enhances my love for all things Chew Lips. And hey, we're still on board with all things based around the other two acts as well!
