It's no secret that around the land of Beastonia, we swoon for all things associated with Annie Mac, her mixes, her radio show and her influence on today's top artists. We've featured many of the 5 minute mini mixes that are put together for her BBC Radio1 show by some of today's noted notables.


Most recently, Ms. Mac enlisted three of the hottest cats on the scene to pump out their blend of new, old and original tunes in their own unique 5 minute segments.

First up is Riton, who can apparently not make anything less than a super amazing mix these days, with a raving run through some of the best dance music you need in one package. Up next, Kid Sister takes us through some of her own tunes, a Green Velvet favorite and some deep Chicago house. Finally, Dizzee Rascal jumps on board with Semtex for a grimily grand mix.

Can you fall in love in one minute? No? Well, you might just do so after giving an ear to this snippet of a cut from Trina's upcoming album, Amazin', due out out March 30, 2010. (thanks to popbytes for reminding me to check in on the Miami mami today!)


Slip-N-Slide Records' first lady comes back with a vengeance in the first quarter of the upcoming year with her 5th studio album. Late in August, she released the first single, That's My Attitude, and now, she's gearing up for the second offering from the disc.

Admission: I had heard a leaked snip of the song, Let Them Hoes Fight, which features Lady Gaga on chorus vocals, back in early September. I was fairly adamant that it wasn't the glampop extraordinare's pipes providing the punch, however, it was just revealed that yes, in fact, it is legit. In a recent interview with XXL, Trina talks about her feelings on the early leak...

"That’s a record that came out, but we didn’t actually clear it to come out. I just hate the fact that stuff like that happens. I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga and being able to work with her meant so much to me and to have it come out like that was just disappointing to me. Jim Jonsin actually reached out to me about being on the record and when I heard the record I went nuts. I love her music. I love how creatively over the top she is. I didn’t get to work with her in the studio personally, but to get to do the record was an honor."

Listen up my little beasts...please get used to reading a lot on Zambri in the coming months. First, I introduced you to the radically rad rad rad outfit, soon after featuring their win as Deli Mag's artist of the month. Today, I'm keeping on in the continual praise of their uniquely enigmatic musical stylings.


Zambri have two shows coming up in Brooklyn (NYC, I best see you all there!), and they've also recently released the video for their crushingly cool track, Bang For Changes. Watch it now!

Along with the video, Zambri will be on BBC Radio 1 tonight...that's 9pm GMT, or 4pm EST for all my [b]east coast lovers. The song featured will be Death Metal Disco Scene's superbly stunning remix of my favorite Zambri track, w/Somembody.

This fix is all sorts of rubberized motion and smooth beat drops that makes us want to hit a dance floor immediately. Keep listening through the nearly minute and a half buildup because the 1:34 mark is a major payoff. Mondo rad to the max!

Being that Halloween is but a spit away (do you have your costumes ready?), over the next 2 days or so, I'll be throwing you some random tunes that evoke the spirit of well, spirits...and ghouls, goblins, and all things eerily amazing.


And what better way to kick off the holiday boohaha (puns!), than with a completely electrifying cover of a classic Blue Oyster Cult song, courtesy of the psychedelically electronic troupe of Van She.

Don't know about you, but it seems like the VS kids take their ever loving time in putting out new music, so when something catches our eye like this, we make sure we don't blink. Premiering their cover of (Don't Fear) The Reaper on Aussie radio station Triple J, Van She churn out a swooping and lusciously soaring version of the 1976 riff raging rock tune.

Those elastically bouncing synths around the 1:20 mark will completely transform any memories you had of the original. I'm in spooky love.

This past weekend, Dragonette dropped by the CBC Radio's morning variety show GO, with host Brent Bambury. The show is heard across their Canadian homeland each Saturday morning from 10:30 till noon. They performed a new song from their recently released sophomore album.


Setting up shop in the studio, they powered through one of my favorite cuts, Easy, from new album, Fixin to Thrill.

Enter Video Killed the Radio Star, a mash of The Buggles' MTV launching track, pumped up with the beats and shouts of Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Heads Will Roll. It's 6 minutes of nonstop action and radness.

Annie Mac just debuted A-Trak's remix of the YYY's track. Yep, this is just a radio rip, and there's plenty of Mac mouth over it, so until there's a high-qual, we can revel in this bit of heat.
