Kleerup has obviously found a formula for success in getting softspoken Scandinavians to provide vocals for his twinkling backbeats and electronically lush melodies.

For every lover, there is a hater, and most casual fans are just that. Casual and quick to write off the super collaborator due to cookie cutter thumps and beats that encompass his entire catalogue. There's obviously the popmaven staple of Robyn's joint and infiltrations with Marit Bergman and Titiyo both sound a little too similar for a refined palate as mine ears to choke down. (In case you didn't know, that was straight up jesting...I do not nor will ever claim to have awesome music taste...most of the time)

Fear not though. Upon the release of his album yesterday, giving it a listen was high on my priority list. Right after graphically designing many projects, making tacos, drinking 4 beers and absolutely shredding the vocals on the mic singing Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden during a slightly buzzed Rock Band marathon. (new anthem much?)

MOVING ON...

2 gems stuck out immediately for me. Until We Bleed, which features everyones new girl crush, Lykke Li. The other: Forever, with stong vocals by none other than Neneh Cherry. The rest of the tracks are forgettable.

But Until We Bleed, well, it should be played at loud volumes. It's dark and haunting, with a chorus of violins more than adequately accompanying the computer generated sounds. It's sultry, it's seductive, it's subdued.

Simply put, it's shy lovemaking at it's best.
