Known for a unique voice, theatrical antics and moppish head of curls, Mika is nearly ready to release his second studio album, and with it, a much more mature sound that proves that life is not all "in cartoon motion".

The Boy Who Knew Too Much will be released on September 22. Initally penned as We Are Golden, the album title changed just over a month ago, because Mika claimed he "wanted something a little more ridiculous". And while the title may evoke a lighter tone, the subject matter and overall progression of the Lebanese lad' sophomore set has shifted dramatically from boy to man. With a helping hand from Owen Pallett and Imogen Heap on two of the album's tracks, Mika strips down and finds a gentler side that I'd been anxious to see and hear.

And whilst getting all sorts of emo, he still has the playful boy inside, as evidenced on his US single, Blame it on the Girls. The track begins with a spoken word intro and launches into a lighthearted handclapper of a sweet pop gem.
