Yeah Yeah Yeahs' front lady Karen O has all but silently been creating a valid sideproject in Native Korean Rock. It's stark and bare. It's emotional. And it's gonna be extremely difficult to catch this outfit live next week.
Check out their 4 streaming tracks on their page, and hell, be their friend. They've got all of 67! The tracks sound like the sorts of recordings my sister, brother, and I used to do on our 1985 pink jam box cassette recorder. Which is probably why I love it even that much more.
Native Korean Rock is playing 2 shows in 1 night (July 21), at the tiny little venue of Union Hall. Thankfully, it is 2 shows. So you can try for 8:00pm or 12:00pm by securing your tickets here.
