Los Angeles hip-hop/electro/experimental artist Avalon Omega mixes a blend singing/rapping/slick talking over stripped down beats and electronic bits that are a refreshing change from the grandeur of the highly produced remixes and what nots that have been appearing here lately.
With a dark and at times smokily husky voice, Avalon Omega has a potential hit on her hands with Like That. She rasps, "Errrybody jump in here / looking good / drinking beer / I can't hear the DJ clear".
With a beat reminiscent of Super Mario stage ending music, it's catchy. It's summery and fun.
Avalon Omega has a handful of perfomances scheduled in the next month or so. Unfortunately, they are all on the west coast, so we'll see if I can't get some of my LA cohorts to attend and report back.
(From her myspace, it looks like she plays cello too. Which we all know gains bonus points in my book.)

It is unfortunate that this artist is such a vain stereotype. Everyone wants to move to LA and become a big star, just like this one. So she dropped alot of weight and started making fun of other people so that she could fit in. All she really wants is love, but with the way she treats people outside of her stage life, no one would want to love her.
