The jury is still out on this one. At first listen, it sounds like nothing but Bollywood dissonance. After a couple of listens, I started to pick it apart and appreciate it.

Nadia Oh is a relative newcomer to U.S. ears. She is a rapper/singer from the UK, best known for her work with Space Cowboy on tracks such as My Egyptian Lover and Something 4 the Weekend.

On Hot Like Wow, Oh whisper-raps her lyrics over an intensely influenced middle eastern beat. But that shouldn't be surprising, as the few other artists on the Tiger Trax label seem to favor this style as well. (Space Cowboy and Roger Seventy Two also appear on the UK label.) The bass is enough to blow my speakers out, and I don't particularly mind it. After the breakdown, there is a heavy electro feel to the single complete with a "straight from the 80's keytar-sounding synth sequence."

Nadia Oh's self-titled debut album will be released on Tuesday, April 13, 2008. The first single is Got Your Number. Remixes from The Loose Cannons and Loop Da Loop will be popping up later this summer.
