Dubbed an Atlanta supergroup by locals, The Constellations officially formed when vocalist Elijah Jones teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Ben H. Allen (Animal Collective, Gnarls Barkley) to create a band with an ever-changing line-up. What remains the same, however, is their unique sound that continues to put a smile on my face.

The Constellations' dynamic is a clash of the Gorillaz, Beck, and Tom Waits that infuses funk, bouncing bass, and poetic ramblings into their songs snd styles. Their debut album, Southern Gothic, is a mix of indie hip-rock that refuses to back down.

Check out the video for their newest single, Felicia, below, which features a sexy pin-up girl photo shoot and a, well, LARGE, phallic male fantasy.

With Cee-Lo and Asher Roth collaborating on the album, The Constellations have proven their mettle by combining their signature gruff with the slickness of seasoned pros.

The Atlanta outfit plays The Studio At Webster Hall on October 5 and again in NYC on October 22 at The Canal Room.
