God, I love the Swedish like no other! And with an introduction to the Gothenburg based band, Fibes, Oh Fibes!, that cut straight to the soft spot in my heart, I'm pleased to let you in on a little secret. FOF! are beyond brilliant. Read on, readers.

Fibes, Oh Fibes! are no stranger on the Swedish indielectro scene, and somehow, I had dismissed them when I initially heard a review of a track back in early 2007 when they were described as an updated version of Scissor Sisters. Blech! But my immediate disregard upon another's opinions alone was my significant error in judgement. SciSisters WISH they were anywhere near as good as FOF!

With a new single, Love Child, that pairs a heavy drumkick with horns to die for, Christian Olsson's vocals soar with a tone reminscient of George Michael at his finest. This is totes a compliment in the eyes of the Beast. Watch the video below.

Now, my Swedish translation is not so hot, so finding out/giving you more info on Fibes, Oh Fibes! is quite the challenge. What I can make out, is that the single came out in early April. I can also translate, loosely, that Kim Wilde and FOF! are currently recording the forthcoming duet, Run To You, and it sounds amazing from the brief clip you can stream below.

Keep your ears and eyes peeled for Fibes, Oh Fibes! to make big splashes in 2009. Definitely do NOT sleep on these cool cats!
