Without Her, We are Nobody...We are Nothing
Sheena Easton, our namesake and producer of phenomenal 80's pop delicacies, has been on in heavy rotation here lately. Why you ask? Because the UK bred artist freakin' rules. AND she created one of the lyrically filthiest songs, and let's get down to brass tacks here, the smut turns us on!
Known by casual fans mostly for her hits 9 to 5 (known as Morning Train in the US) and Modern Girl, Easton remains the only UK female artist to have two singles in the UK top 10 at the same time since 1959. (the songs are the 2 aforementioned)
But Easton's back catalogue is virtually littered with songs that you'd recognize even if you don't know the names or lyrics immediately. So we're helping you out. 2 tracks below, plus a few choice words pulled from the sexually risqué Sugar Walls which had been written for her by Prince (using the pseudonym Alexander Nevermind).
I can tell you want me / it's impossible to hide
Your body's on fire / admit it / come inside
Come inside my sugar walls / come spend the night inside my sugar walls

I can feel a Sheena Easton appreciation post building up at EQ. "Strut" what a fucking great pop song. Girlfriend needs to make some more music though.
"Strut" makes me want to, well, do as the title implies.
We say more Easton...more!
Cheers,
Sheena Beaston
'Strut' is a masterpiece of catchy 80's pop, but... "file not found". Whaaat?
Thank you, Dead Lord. God bless the Sheena.
Something to say?
