We featured Menya way too long ago to have gone this long without writing about their tight dynamic.

So let's jump back into it.

As the post title says, Menya will be playing at Fat Baby tonight. (112 Rivington Street) It's a part of the Concert for Water: Part Deux. What is that you ask? Let's fill you in.

All money is being donated to a fund that will supply an African village with a clean water supply. Did you know that only $5,500 is needed to get an African village clean water? Come out and help raise money for people who need it! And come out see some great music! It’s going to be a great night. (Cover is only $5. If I can swing that, then I know you definitely can.)

Menya takes the stage at 10pm, but why not show up early for some equally delicious music? Other performers include: Anders Hester and the Alright Ma’s and Nobody Can Dance. The show is 21+.

In the meantime, ready yourself for tonight's fesitivites with one of the best songs you'll hear all year. DTF is gritty and raw with a slick production intricacies that make us jerk. Matching harmonic choruses with a sick flow, Good Goose, Coco Dame and Angie Ripe have created a personal anthem for me. In case you don't know what DTF stands for, take a listen, and then get back to me.

(You should also jump over to their MySpace and have a listen to Ripe. It makes me feel stank nasty and I'd have it no other way. And then go buy their debut EP, The Ol' Reacharound on iTunes.)
