Why more isn't made out of Pharoahe Monch is beyond me. Half of one of the most respected and acclaimed underground hip hop acts of the 1990s, Organized Konfusion, Monch made a name for himself due to his multi-syllabic style of rhyming and the duo's alternative genre of hip-hop.
Granted, his appearances and releases have been vastly minimal over the past few years. Last year's Desire was his second solo album, 7 years following his first effort. The album only sold approximately 18,000 copies.
Most casual fans would recognize the track Fuck You (Got You), which was part of the Training Day soundtrack, but aside from his solo work, Monch has been plenty busy with producing and guesting on other's albums. To either help educate you, or to refresh your memory of the genius that he is, study up on the tracks below. Queens represent!
