Born to a family of gypsies deep within the countryside in the south of England, Neon Hitch grew up in the environment of a traveling circus. Nurturing her inner performer from a young age, the trapeze artist and fire swinger left her family at age 15, ending up in India, only to return to London to fuel the fire within her.

Neon Hitch (and yes, that is her real name) has been on stages with 50 Cent and the Streets, but most notably, she is the flatmate of one, Amy Winehouse. The comparisons would be to easy to issue, but Hitch is a far cry from the style of Winehouse.

Describing her style as mix of hip-hop and "pre-Timbaland Nelly Furtado", Neon Hitch embraces her gypsy roots and it shines forth in her music and lyrics. As her name lends, this artist is ready to shine.

Give a listen to her song My Book below. It's a great balance of urban flare with the gypsy world she embodies. Then hop on over to her MySpace and stream the rest of her equally delicious tracks.
