Standard procedure for today's hip-hop artists.

Release a single. Get minimal airplay. Have someone like MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Designer Drugs, or hell, I suppose even Justice (ugh) remix it for you. Gain huge cred and notoriety in the blog world.

Looking back to even 5 years ago, the dj set was nowhere near as oversaturated as it is today. Remixes came fewer and much further between. And almost always had a rock vibe to it.

I would thrash out to these songs on a regular basis xx amount of years ago.

Oh, when times were simpler with so much more kickbeat and drumstick twirls.

And just for good measure, because I can...and it's not a remix. Nor is it so much that Eve is a great rapper. Or that Gwen Stefani is remotely a rocker. It's just because I can...
