Who's a happy little girl?

Gearing up for her July 8 debut album release of The Fame, Lady GaGa has been on a nationwide promotional club tour. And whilst said tour has been underway, someone has been letting the cat out of the bag. Not that I'm complaining. But what you, and I, will/should go out and do is BUY LADY GAGA's THE FAME here on JULY 8, 2008.

In recent interviews, here's what Lady GaGa had to say about her upcoming debut:
- Lyrically, it touches on a number of different topics, but, as a whole, is a concept piece.

- The idea of "the fame" runs throughout.

- Basically, if you have nothing — no money, no fame — you can still feel beautiful and dirty rich. It's about making choices, and having references — things you pull from your life that you believe in. It's about self-discovery and being creative.

Beautiful Dirty Rich, which I've already posted about here, is a sassy and brassy song that screams Los Angeles. But this is obviously an updated, if not album version, of the track, and the spoken/rapped breakdown towards the end is a pleasant surprise.

Boys Boys Boys is just, well, yes! I'm hearing influences of Toni Basil's Mickey in the verses, what with the stomps/hand claps/etc... And as it appears to be in true GaGa form, a sliding off-kiltered bridge pops in that makes me love it so much more.

Dirty Ice Cream is disco heaven. Plain and simple. "Don't be dirty ice cream / baby we could fall in love but / it's too early to be calling me like that / stop calling oh stop calling"

Rock Show is another disco influenced banger. With a staticky, crunchy dissonance behind the verses, the chorus launches into a rolling bassline and feverishly played keys. And, as the title suggests, there's definitely more of a rock vibe going on here. We like. A lot.

There's another track, Paparazzi, but the quality was just too low to deem it worthy of upping here. You can always hit me here though if so desperately wanted. It's a bit slower track, and I find myself enjoying it immensely.
