And segue into gratuitous use of Sonic Youth song titles in correlation with Starbucks imagery/verbiage. And here's why.

June 9th will mark the release of "Hits are for Squares", a Sonic Youth compilation, released and only available in selected Starbucks stores in major US cities and online. The album will contain 15 classic Youth tracks as selected by alterna/indie loving-celebrities and musicians alike, as well as a new track by the NYC noise-rock foursome. (tracklisting is below)

Speaking to Billboard last year about their choice to release the compilation through the coffee shop chain, guitarist Thurston Moore said: "I guess, for some, Sonic Youth represents something that they don't really equate with Starbucks. But I kind of like the absurdity of it. Sonic Youth has always, in a way, made itself available to the super mainstream.
