It's Always Wynter in the Summer
It was only a matter of time before I posted this. I've been rocking out to Wynter Gordon songs since the beginning of '08 when I first found out about her. My coworkers were less than enthusiastic with the sounds, and to them I say, just wait. Wait and see.
HUGE departure from the genres of music you're used to seeing on this site, but this artist is going to blow up, I'm sure of it.
Wynter has the pop/r&b bumper sound on lock with her hot single Surveillance. From what I've seen/read on Popjustice (excellent site by the way), Wynter is like a cross between Rihanna and Leona Lewis, with a bit of the Sugababes' sass thrown in. (rock!)
In response to the sound of Surveillance, they summed it up nicely with the below formula:
"Umbrella" + "The Way I Are" + "Maneater" = "Surveillance"
In addition to being a talented performer, her songwriting abilities are evident as she wrote the song Gonna Breakthrough for Mary J. Blige on her album The Breakthrough. (love that song!) She also co-wrote 2 Of You for Danity Kane on their album, Welcome to the Dollhouse. (total guilty pleasure song of mine that I can't get enough of!)
See if you agree with my pick by listening to this hot track below. (also listen to the equally delicious Frustrated)
