Josh Kelley Acoustic Set
3pm Thursday afternoon, February 28, 2008.
I’m inclined to say that the “more talented half” of the “Katherine Heigl/Josh Kelley” union made an appearance at the Billboard Café today.
No, Heigl wasn’t reading live poetry or performing compelling dialogues ripped off the pages of Grey’s Anatomy scripts.
Josh Kelly played a 4-song acoustic set to an audience of about 50 people.
Sounding like the bastard child of John Mayer and Jack Johnson, Kelley flubbed a line in his second song “Masterpiece”, which ultimately proved to be the highlight of the performance. As the set up guy disclaimed before presenting Kelley, “He has found much success on the adult contemporary charts.” I can see why...he is mellow and passionate, and I would listen to him, if only I was driving in the car with my mother to the grocery store.
Josh's current album, Special Company, was released in the United States on January 14, 2008. He is performing tomorrow night as the opening act to OneRepublic at Roseland Ballroom.
I'm sure tickets are still available.
