Over the past month and a half, I've been so psyched to bring you the good word that is music and food, meshed as one, on IFC's original series, Dinner With The Band. Featuring guests like Sharon Jones, MEN and Kid Sister, the show reveals insight on the cookery of Sam Mason and the musicalities of today's emerging stars.

Tonight is the last episode of DWTB's preview season. The first full season will air on IFC starting in April.

This evening's season finale features the duo of Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans, known more famously as Portland's own, YACHT. When it comes to eating, as staunch vegans (meaning they consume no animal byproduct), these two experiment non-stop in their culinary laboratory. While head chef, Sam Mason cooks up Psychic City (Chicken of the Woods Mushroom) Picado and Summer Bok choy and a Lovage Sour drink, YACHT will perform a handful of their truly enigmatic songs.

Check out this online exclusive performance of Waste Of Time.

Dinner With The Band is on IFC tonight at 11pm. Check your local cable listings for channel details.

This reminds me of childhood, video games, rad creatures and generally speaking...pretty solid mixing. Skeet Skeet has been dominating a number of our favorite year-end mixes, and today, we're all sorts of giddy with a big ol' grin thanks to a glitchy and techy fix of one of our most cherished "back-in-the-day" programs.

Who didn't love Fraggle Rock? If you told me you didn't, I'd call you a filthy, stinkin' liar and walk away. HOWEVER, I might throw on Skeet's remix, lovingly titled as an "8-Bit Adventure" before departing, in an effort to change your mind.

Gosh, I'm digging this so much. It's just over 2 minutes of fun. Sing it with me... "Down at Fraggle Rock!" **clap clap**

Skeet Skeet's got a number of gigs in the beginnings of the coming year. Jump here for dates and details.

Last month, we chatted with Chitown chica, Kid Sister, about the release of her debut album, hidden talents, and the upcoming episode ofg IFC's original series, Dinner With The Band, that she along with buddies and brother, Flosstradamus, taped back in August.

On tonight's episode of the food and music program mash, chef Sam Mason will be serving up Can I Kick It Curry w/ Control Cous Cous; and Rooi Moer. The musicians' contigent bring the heat with tracks 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Big Bills and Control. Catch an appetizer-sized sneak peek performance below.

IFC's Dinner With The Band airs on the independent channel Tuesdays at 11pm. Kid Sister's debut album, Ultraviolet, is out now. Buy here.

MEN is the Brooklyn-based band and art/performance collective, focusing on the energy of live performance and an exciting stage show. Oh yeah, and they're our favorite discovery of 2009! The band is fronted by former Le Tigre member JD Samson and is considered one of the icons of the feminist and DIY music movement.

Tonight marks MEN's tv debut on Dinner With The Band, on IFC at 11pm. Below, we have the video for Simultaneously. They will also peform Credit Card Babie$ and Boom Boom Boom tonight, while head hipster chef, Sam Mason, cooks them Boom Boom Boom (duck) Buns and Thai Long Island Ice Tea.

Check out the video below.

Again, that's 11pm tonight only on IFC. Also 2010 is going to be huge for MEN...tours, releases, remixes (including one from buddy Lauren Flax!)

Keep it rad!

On their recent trip to New York City, Dragonette hung out with the fine folks of Fearless Music/TV to tape a live segment. Fearless Music pits seven bands against each other, performing hit singles which the TV audience then votes on.

In addition to the Canadian cum London band, this episode features Cartel, Wax Tailor, Hellogoodbye, Stalkers, Electric Black and Shaka Ponk. Yes, this video is 20+ minutes long, but don't fret kids, cause Dragonette is the first of the acts up, with their hit single, Fixin To Thrill.

Below, enjoy two Dragonette remixes you probably have not heard before. The first of which immediately jumps up to the top of my be[a]st fixes of the year...hands down.

There's no denying the absolutely rad amount of fun that the sibling team of Flosstradamus and Kid Sister have when performing together. We witnessed the radness firsthand when they teamed up late last month for a gig at NYC's Webster Hall.

In what has become somewhat of a "musical rite of passage", children's television program, Yo Gabba Gabba!, acts as an avenue for established and up and coming artists to break into the homes and hearts of families with young'uns.

This past weekend, however, the Youngs (Josh and Melisa) took it one step beyond the television and joined the YGG cast of characters on stage in Chicago. Check out the video below, and stay tuned til the 2:56 mark, when you get a sneak peek at Floss' backstage rehearsals!

Did you catch Biz Markie drop by for a shimmy and shake? Adorable!

If you're a fan of video games, less than politcally correct cartoons, and some down home southern hardcore rap, then you've no doubt already stumbled across the latest free mixtape coming out of the cable netowrk, Adult Swim.

Presented by Rockstar Games, in association with Timbaland, ATL RMX matches up and coming artists with some truly killer remixes. The entire compilation will be available through the end of the year, and as an added bonus, two of the tracks (Hello Miss and Is That You God?) will be accessible for your very own remix skills. You can download those two and mix using the Beaterator for all of you PSP owners.

Go grab ATL RMX in it's entirety here, check the track list below, then jump after for one of our favorite cuts from the comp!

Once in a very blue moon, I'll catch Saturday Night Live when it airs in it's 12:35am time slot. This past weekend, Blake Lively hosted the extremely hit or miss affair, with musical guest Rihanna. Naturally, funnyman, Andy Samberg, corraled the Barbadian beauty's vocoder-ed voice for a digital short entitled Shy Ronnie.

The skit sees Rihanna in the role of "tutelage via autotune", complete with hypeman/sidekick, Shy Ronnie, played by the aforementioned Samberg.

Watch the hilarity now!

This brings the major LOLs for this "I needed a good belly laugh" beast.

What's your favorite part? I'm still stuck on the echoy delicious "Speak up!", although the whole piece is infinitely funny!

This put such a beaming smile on my face this morning that it simply must be shared. Florence and the Machine continue to entrance, even if it is for a fake 1963 French television audience. How so? Read on!

The Belgian beer, Stella Artois, recently snagged Florence to film a, lets call it, fake television appearance, profiling the prolific singer. The performance of You've Got the Love takes place on what is titled/described as follows.

Please enjoy: Live from 1963 and introducing the electronic guitar, Alain du Monde presents the sound of the future...Florence + Le Machine!

So we've got a Brit, performing on fake French programming, as commissioned by the Belgians. Somehow, Florence seems to fit in quite perfectly with this era, don't you agree?

Rad!

Are you confused by that smattering of Swedish verbiage? I had to do a little research myself in order to get the full breadth of what was going on in the below footage. Let's dive in!

Dansbandskampen is an entertainment program in Sweden, much like our very own American Idol. The contest aims to bring dance band culture into the mainstream media light of the Scandinavian public. Acts are voted for and are booted off or continue on in the competition thanks to the popular vote.

On a recent episode, one of the faring participants, Titanix, took the insanely catchy Mando Diao track, Dance With Somebody, and "disco-ed" it up. Watch them cover it live now.

What'd you think? Are they worthy of the phone-in vote? I think it's quite catchy!

Mando Diao are on tour in Europe through December 12. Dates here.

The new IFC Original Series, Dinner With the Band, is the first cooking show combining culinary delights, musical performances and conversations with some of today's most acclaimed indie music artists. The premiere episode debuts tomorrow, November 24, on the indie channel, after being transformed from a webisode series, which began in 2007.

Super cool dudes, Darin and Greg Bresnitz, are the brains behind the birth of the feature, which sees Sam Mason, the tattooed and celebrated NYC chef (Tailor, WD-50), inviting a band to his Brooklyn loft where he shows them how to add his signature culinary spin to their favorite "on-tour" food. In the meantime, Chef Mason and the artists converse on food, music, and life while cooking together. After they "chow down" they "get down" as each act takes to the loft's stage to play a killer musical set.

The first episode pairs Mason with another Brooklynite, Sharon Jones, and her band, The Dap Kings. Watch their performance of I'm Not Gonna Cry, which will appear during the debut tomorrow.

Future episodes of Dinner With the Band include guests: Final Fantasy, Lesy Savy Fav, MEN, Kid Sister (with Flosstradamus), and YACHT. The show airs Tuesdays at 11pm on IFC.

Our favorite rockin' chick, Juliette Lewis, was recently in Berlin, both to hit up Europe with her Terra Incognita tour, as well as to attend and present a statue at the MTV EMA Awards earlier this month.

As a special supplement to the awards, Lewis did a brief interview with the German constituents pre-show host, complete with an acoustic performance of Fantasy Bar, from her latest album.

Oh, did we mention that this rendition takes place in the back of a car? Check it out!

Reminder for all you European friends and readers: Juliette Lewis powers on through your towns, continuing on tour for the next month. All remaining dates can be found here.

And for even more goodness, check our interview with Ms. Lewis here, in case you missed our incessant swoonings.

Anya Marina is the kind of singer/songwriter who embodies the spirit of storytelling. Embracing the notion that "less is more", Marina's appealing conversational vocal style lays forth an intimacy that is easily digestible and highly listenable.

With two albums to her credit, Anya has made small waves on the indie/acoustic scene by touring with the likes of Jason Mraz and soon, Paolo Nutini. Most notably, however, might be the placement of many of her songs on network and cable television staples. From Grey's Anatomy to How I Met Your Mother and The Real World, Marina's unique vocals are easily recognized and perfectly paired with the scenes in which they support.

Which brings us to her most recent newsworthy bit. On a recent episode of Gossip Girl*, characters Dan, Vanessa and Olivia engage in a "Britney-worthy" act that requires 3 bodies. Aside from the racy tones, you may have heard a new take on an all-too familiar song. That belongs to Anya Marina, with her cover of T.I.'s hip-hop anthem, Whatever You Like.

Sorry Tip, but we're going with Anya on this one. Watch the video, which features Justin Kirk from Weeds, here.

*If there are any rabid fans of this show reading, please feel free to correct me if any of the above information is incorrectly noted. I don't watch it, I just report it.

With mentions of a new album, We Are Born, in 2010, alongside penned and produced works for friend Christina Aguilera, this year has been quite a tease of news from the camp of Aussie darling, Sia.

So naturally, I got all sorts of excited when perusing the telly channels a few weeks ago and hearing a familiar tone flowing over the visuals of a luxury car commrcial. In the 2010 Lincoln MKT commerial, titled Perceptions, Sia's smooth vocals provide the emotive expressions as the car twists and turns through the night. You can watch the ad here.

And yes, if you think that song sounds familaiar, it's because it is a cover of The Church's 1988 hit, Under the Milky Way. Churchman Stebe Kilbey has his own thoughts on the new take here, but we think Sia's version is simply smashing!

mp3: Sia - Under the Milky Way (The Church Cover)

BONUS! Sia has a number of covers in her repertoired pocket, each of them equally fantastic. Gobble 'em up below.

I'm coming to you live from the set of The Martha Stewart Show right now! How cool is that?

Swedish electro duo, Girls with Moustaches sent over a their debut song earlier this morning, so I thought I'd share with you all, and give you a present, courtesy of the wifi here in Chelsea Studios!

Kite in the Air hit the land of Beastonia earlier this year with a swirling gush of gooey electropop that was an immediate "play and repeat" addition to our extensive library. Their self-titled EP was a breath of fresh oxygen that revitalized both our playlists and our persons.

Now, the kids otherwise known as Emma Lucia and WZRDZ are seeing their hard work pay off, as some bigwigs in the telly world have taken notice.

Two high-ranking genY targeted shows on The CW, 90210 and Beautiful Life, have licensed KitA's song, The Plan, for use in future episodes of each. Kite in the Air also has a new EP in the works, which makes my heart palpitate a little faster, in anticipation of what's to come.

mp3: Kite in the Air - The Plan

BONUS! Since I mentioned WZRDZ above, how about I let you in on a secret? They just released a new EP, called Wzrdz Are Awshum, and it's available on iTunes. Get the lead track from the EP below.

For what was a much hullabalooed 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, including the Michael Jackson tribute, rumors of who would or would not perform, an appearance by Madonna and countless WTF moments, the sole highlight of the evening lasted all of :31 seconds and belonged to Janet Jackson.

Opting to go for a ferociously massive number rather than a quiet and peaceful song, Jackson performed a tribute to her brother, Michael, by recreating the legendary dance scene from their 1995 smash, Scream. With the help of some techy radness, Janet appeared "alongside" Michael and rocked out the moves I used to, and still, emulate as soon as this song hits.

Watch the performance below.

Later on in the evening, a new song from Janet Jackson was posted at the singer’s official web site. Fans were notified through her twitter account.

"Thank u for ur endless love n support!"

"I hope u guys enjoyed us tonight. It was very special for me n I have a very special gift for all of u."

The song, Make Me, is streaming on her site. It's an upbeat jam that shows promise of what is rumored as an "early 2010 new album". Bodacious!

If you haven't caught on to my love of Juliette Lewis yet, then you're obviously not a regular here. But that's ok! because I have some new vids and info that will bring you up to speed.

Last night, Juliette brought her troupe of radness to the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson to talk her new album, Terra Incognita, chat about bulls in erotic dreams, bedazzling, magic and all things bodaciously "Lewis".

Check out the interview first, then the second video is her fiery performance of Fantasy Bar, which is from the new album, released earlier this month.

Juliette Lewis will rage through NYC on September 19 at the Fillmore. Get a ticket here.

Today is Christmas right? RIGHT?!? Peaches has announced that in one week, we will see the launch of her official blog AND, get this, PeachesTV. All of this can be yours on August 25.

As she says: "You're gonna wanna watch. You're gonna wanna read."

No convincing necessary here.

SWOON.

V, over at Cream Team, mentioned that the first person to get blogrolled by Peaches pretty much wins at life. Somehow, I think she has the edge, what with the whole "cream" in the name of her site.
