Design problems are encountered, but Boots gets advice from some US laser harp builders. Check out how she incorporates her costuming into the playing of the light-strument as well.
Little Boots comes back to New York on March 2 at Highline Ballroom. Tickets for the all ages show are on sale here.
Last week, her Remedy Remixes EP was released. Cop 'em here.

Very cool !!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Little Boots connected with Steve Hobley for help in getting a more exciting harp using real lasers. I understand that Steve just built the controller part, and that Little Boots had her tech/lighting folks set up the actual high powered laser. It is also possible to set up a laser harp like this with lower powered green or red lasers, that are not so dangerous to work with.
It is great to have a new performer playing a laser harp on stage, and doing some new and different music with it ! :-)

"...build's Laser Harps in his bedroom..."
ReplyDeleteHe sounds like he lives at home with his Mum. If it were me, I'd build them in a secret underground lair...
Oh hang on, it is me.
Really like the project. From what I read you should take some precautions to protect your skin and eyes from potential damage. I notice you looking into the harp from above and thought it might be a little ... um... blinding?
